Little Shop of Horrors Auditions

The Westfield Theatre Group is proud to announce auditions for its Fall 2018 production of Little Shop of Horrors. When a strange new breed of plant appears on Skid Row, it takes scheming, romancing, and feeding an insatiable appetite for blood to make dreams come true in this beloved musical.

Auditionees should prepare to sing 32 bars of a song of their choice. Please do not bring sheet music to the audition as we will be using full orchestration for the show. Instead, bring a CD or MP3 file, the backing track/karaoke of your song to accompany yourself. Auditonees are asked to select a song they feel best represents their character of interest. Songs may be from Little Shop or elsewhere in the Alan Menken Broadway/Disney songbook. Additional information regarding singing is listed with the character descriptions below. Any questions regarding the vocal auditions or if you need help acquiring the backing track to your song, email the music director, George Garber Jr., at badcat4@verizon.net.

Auditions will be held Sunday, June 3rd and Tuesday, June 5th, 2018. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with vocal auditions beginning at 6:30 PM at the Westfield Woman’s Club located at 28 Court St., Westfield, MA. Callbacks (if needed) will be held on Thursday, June 7th with doors open at 6:00 PM and vocal auditions at 6:30 PM. Readings for all roles will be from the script, and all those auditioning will be asked to take part in the general vocal warm-up at 6:30PM.

Little Shop of Horrors will be performed October 19th, 20th, 26th & 27th at 7:30 PM and the 27th at 2:00 PM by the Westfield Theatre Group, a department of the Westfield Woman’s Club, 28 Court Street, Westfield, MA. Artistically directed by Jay Torres with musical direction by George Garber Jr.
