Spontaneous Combustion and Morse Code

We are proudly returning to the stage this Fall with Spontaneous Combustion & Morse Code, two one-act shows written and directed by local playwright Steve Henderson.

SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION
Man and woman shopping separately in a market. The man flirts outrageously with wit and hijinks, and the woman finds him attractive in spite of herself. Later, they are on a dinner date where the woman feasts while the man seems subdued. An outrageous and comic waiter drives the man nuts, while charming the woman. In the final scene the man and the woman are at a counselor's office talking about their relationship. There is an unusual thread to the scenes and a surprise ending.

MORSE CODE
Nick Morse is alone in his bedroom, wearing scrubs and drinking. He has put black dots on the walls, on himself and on a teddy bear. He talks about dots in a variety of ways. He is clearly distressed about something, but it is not clear what that is. His brother, Chris Morse, arrives ready to play basketball. He wants to know about the dots. His stated reason for showing up is to play basketball, but there is more to his arrival than that. They talk, spar and wrangle until the truth for each comes out.

Performances are scheduled for October 15, 16, 22, & 23, 2021
